Members Meeting
Our campaign to attract new independent candidates to Council is going well and we have some excellent candidates showing interest. We will discuss this at the next members meeting on Monday 6th September and confirm what support we are able to provide. We would also like to discuss who the SCRRA should support as a mayoral candidate. Many thanks to all our dedicated letterboxers and letterboxing coordinators; your efforts have made this a great success and the message is well and truly being heard in the community!
Confirmed time for the next SCRRA members meeting is Monday 6th September at 8pm at St Margaret’s Church Hall cnr Wooodville and Port Rd; we look forward to seeing you at this meeting.
Council Elections
There is a Council information session for candidates at 7pm on the same night at the Council chambers, so anyone that is interested is welcome to join us there! Also, please let us know asap if you are willing to help spread the word in your neighbourhood and encourage people to vote for our St Clair candidates? Every little bit helps and it would be great if we could count on our members to act as “street captains” for their immediate area to help spread the word!
Cake Stall
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Leni and Marie for their efforts with the cake stall; this has provided the funding to enable us to run the letterboxing campaign and they have been absolute champions – thanks ladies!! As attendance and donations of either baked goodies/money have been down a bit over the last month, I would like to ask everyone to please help Leni and Marie out for the stalls on 11th and 25th September - Leni can be reached on 0432 112 381 if you have donations or would like to help out on either of these dates. Please get behind Leni and Marie and help to make our campaign to get independent representation back on Council a success!
Fundraising Events
Kelly Thomas has been successful in arranging a St Clair Variety afternoon at the Governor Hindmarsh on October 10th; please keep this date in your calendar and we look forward to providing some more details to you soon!! Well done Kelly!
There is also a Tupperware fundraiser happening; please contact me if you are interested in having a look at the latest book.
Open Space
You may have noticed that Charles Sturt are consulting over open space; I will forward a copy of my response to them and I would encourage you to make a submission and tell them exactly what you think!
